Michael North is running out of time. This mission may finish him for good.

When visionary tech genius Tobias Hawke is found brutally murdered in his own lab, the world’s most dangerous secret dies with him.

Hawke’s final creation, Syd, is an artificial intelligence that doesn’t just pattern-match, but thinks for itself. Capable of learning, reasoning, and evolving, it promised to change humanity forever. In the wake of Hawke’s death, Syd has triggered an emergency shutdown, locking away everything she knows.

There’s only one man who can uncover what Syd is hiding.

Pulled back into the covert government world of dark ops he thought he’d left behind, Michael North must identify Hawke’s killer and extract the truth buried inside Syd. But as the clock ticks down and powerful interests close in, North realises this isn’t just a murder investigation. It’s a race to stop the wrong people gaining control of a technology that could reshape the world.

Fast-paced, explosive and intelligent, Curse the Day is perfect for fans of the relentless action and morally complex heroes of David Baldacci, Lee Child, Stephen Leather and Mark Dawson.
