We know that great publishing needs energy, rigour and care. We avoid burnout by offering generous holiday allowances, using smart systems from the outset, and trusting our team to work in the way that suits them.
2. We deliberately cap workloads
We maintain a maximum ratio of authors to staff, so no-one is stretched too thin. This allows our teams to do their jobs properly, with care, focus, and attention – for authors, for books, and for each other.
3. We value long-term relationships
We’re not interested in churn. We want to build a small, highly skilled team who grows with the company over time. That means investing in people, trusting them with responsibility, and giving them space to do their best work.
4. We’re transparent about pay
We believe transparency builds trust. That’s why we publish our salary bands and are committed to fair, equitable compensation across the business. (You’ll find our current salary bands in the ‘Salary Bands’ section.’)
5. We’re remote-first, but not remote-only
Pellerin is a remote-first company, designed to hire brilliant people wherever they live. We also value connection, collaboration, and time together - with regular in-person meet-ups built into how we work.
These are reviewed annually and adjusted in line with cost-of-living changes and the growth of the business to ensure they remain fair, competitive and realistic.
