For too long, the publishing industry has operated behind closed doors, with authors often left in the dark about the day-to-day performance of their own books. Today, we are changing that with the launch of the Pellerin Dashboard, a new platform designed to give our authors near real-time insight into the commercial data driving their sales.
Developed over the past seven months and led by our co-founder and COO, Jessie Sullivan, the dashboard was born out of a desire to fundamentally evolve the traditional publisher-author dynamic.
“We created the Pellerin dashboard because the publisher-author relationship and how it exists right now just cannot be the only way forward,” Jessie explains. “If we treat authors as partners, as equals, our success is their success and vice versa.”
For years, authors have faced a difficult compromise. self-published authors have enjoyed access to rich, detailed commercial data, while traditionally published authors have benefited from the financial investment, editorial expertise, and industry reach of a publishing house – often at the expense of seeing the data themselves. We don’t believe authors should have to choose between those two experiences.

Streamlining sales, marketing, production, and royalties into a single, intuitive space, the Pellerin Dashboard empowers authors to see exactly how their books are performing. The data is deeply layered, allowing users to filter metrics across title, series, format, genre, retailer, territory, country, and publication type.
Crucially, the platform also demystifies book marketing. Authors can track live Amazon and Meta advertising campaigns to see exactly where our marketing budget is being invested. With access to detailed performance metrics – including impressions, clicks, click-through rates, and cost-per-result – authors can identify exactly which campaigns, audiences, and individual adverts are driving their sales.
Every Pellerin author receives access to this platform as part of their standard publishing agreement. The goal is simple: to ensure that when we talk to our authors, we are all looking at the exact same commercial picture.
“We’d much rather have honest conversations based on shared information than ask authors simply to trust that everything is happening behind the scenes,” adds Jessie. “When authors and publishers are working from the same information, they make better commercial decisions together – and ultimately build more successful author careers.”
Recently featured in The Bookseller, the launch of the dashboard marks the first phase of Pellerin’s wider publishing technology strategy. With additional functionality and commercial tools already planned for next year, we are incredibly excited to continue building a more transparent, collaborative, and long-term future for our authors.
