Pellerin Books acquires two riveting psychological thrillers from ‘Queen of urban crime’ Heather Burnside

Jessie Sullivan and Laura Palmer, co-founders of Pellerin Books, have acquired world English-language rights to two psychological thrillers by Heather Burnside, from Francesca Riccardi at Kate Nash Agency, for publication in paperback and e-book from June 2026.

The first book, The Nanny , follows Amanda Fitzroy, a woman who appears to have everything – a successful husband, a beautiful home and a young son she adores. When the strain of balancing work and motherhood becomes overwhelming, hiring a nanny feels like the perfect solution. Katelyn is capable, attentive and quickly wins the trust of the whole family. But as small, unsettling changes begin to accumulate, Amanda realises that inviting Katelyn into her home may have been a terrible mistake…

A claustrophobic domestic thriller exploring obsession, manipulation and the fragility of modern family life, The Nanny will be devoured by readers of Freida McFadden, Claire McGowan, Rona Halsall and Valerie Keogh.

Laura and Jessie said: “The Nanny is an addictive psychological thriller that plays brilliantly on contemporary fears around trust, motherhood and the idea of safety within the home. Heather Burnside brings her instinctive understanding of the fear that can lurk within everyday life from her bestselling gangland novels to this new strand of gripping psychological thrillers.”

Heather Burnside said: “I am thrilled to have been signed by Pellerin Books and to be part of this venture from the outset. It has been great working with Laura to bring these exciting new ideas to fruition. Laura’s guidance has been invaluable in developing The Nanny into a novel of which I am proud. I hope old and new readers alike will enjoy both books.”
